California Automobile Assigned Risk Plan ? Automobile insurance agency Is this fraudulently based activity?
The DMV qualified me for the California Automobile Assigned Risk Plan (a low cost automobile policy for poverty level income licensed drivers with a good driving record. I called an agency off of the DMVs list , they said yes we offer this policy. The agency checked my license/DMV record. I thought I signed an application for the Assigned risk policy. I was told by the agency that they could not offer it to me at this time. I asked why, they explained that they are using a different point system than the DMV to qualify applicants. They said they’d look into it & re-emburse me, they never got back to me, I got a collections notice in the mail for an expensive premium,& notice from DMV stating I had no insurance for the duration of the policy. I gave the agency $250
On the notice from the DMV about the California Automobile Assigned Risk Plan it says to notify them if an agency on their list charges a brokerage fee or any extra fees besides the insurance policy premium fees for the California Automobile Assigned Risk Plan? Should I contact an attorney or will they laugh at me?

I would contact a lawyer and make sure it is a good thing. The only thing I would watch out for his pricing, when contact a lawyer is the phone time and the time for him to review going to be outrageuos. With http://www.whatsyourwhy.net is good just for asking questions or having a good attorney look over things. All you pay for is a monthly membership and that is good. If you would like contact me and we can discuss what they cover.

I do not think that it is a fraudulent activity !!
California’s Compulsory Financial Responsibility Law requires every driver and owner of a motor vehicle to be financially responsible for their actions.
