iT WILL SHOOT UP, your a young driver and incases of driving a car like a luxury merc they might not even insure you because of your age
but if they do the insurance for your dad will go sky high coz bad things are more likely to happen to younger drivers. Your better off with a car that has group one insurance which is the cheapest car insurance you can get and belive me you can get some good cars on group one insurance

As 17 year old, you should paying around $1200 a year. However for merc it should be more. The best course for you should be that you go for online quotes. Just punch you zip and few things about yourself and car and you will get quotes from different companies in minutes and then you can compare for price and coverage.
