How much will car insurance cost if I decide to buy a 2000-02 Chevy Corvette?

02 Mar

I have a clean driving record; I have never been in an accident, no tickets, no nothing. I’m not saying its true but I heard from a friend that it cost about $500 a month for car insurance for the vette?
Seriously, would it really be that much if my record is perfect?
Ok i’m 21 so it should be hight but what if its under my mom?

its a high priced car which raises it. plus its classified as a sports car which raises it as well. on top of that it doesnt have a very high safety rating so your insurance is gonna be up there…

I have a 1999 Camaro, and it runs about $700/year. The corvette will, of course, run higher.

But, no one on here can tell you for sure what it will cost, because the color and – most importantly – your location matter. Just go on some insurance websites and make some calls…that’s the only way you’ll get an accurate answer.

    OH .. My ..

Yeah, it’s gonna be through the roof .. Call your car insurance and get a quote ..

I have a friend who has a 2005 Corvette and his insurance is around $400-$500 a month.

    Holy moley.

ADDED: Well, he has a clean record as well .. And he’s also under 25, though..It does matter if you’re under 25 — your car insurance should go down after that.

FIRST YOU DO NOT WANT THE INSURANCE UNDER YOUR MOMS NAME UNLESS YOU LIVE WITH HER AND SHE IS THE PRIMARY NAME ON THE REGISTRATION BECAUSE YOU WOULD BE COMMITTING FRAUD.

THE RATES FOR YOU WOULD BE BETWEEN $450.00 TO $600.00 A MONTH.

CHECK WITH THE BOARD OF INSURANCE WHICH IS ON LINE AND THIS WAY YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SEE FIRST HAND ALL INSURANCE COMPANIES INCLUDING THEIR RATINGS AS WELL AS HOW THEY PAY AND TREAT CONSUMERS AND MAYBE BE ABLE TO ASSIST YOU.

Don’t listen to anyone who is giving you a dollar figure on this, they could either be too low or too high. The only way you’re going to find out how much it costs to insure a corvette is to call around to the insurance carriers and get quotes.

There are only a couple of guarantees in this situation: you will be paying a higher rate due to your age, and you will get hit with a performance surcharge due to the type of vehicle you’re looking to insure.

To address one of the other responders, the color of the vehicle has no bearing on the premium you will pay. A red corvette is the same as a white corvette.
