I talked to my insurance broker, and she said that every person in my household that will be driving my car needs to be registered as a secondary driver, otherwise they must sign that they will never be driving the car and insurance will be void if they did (she mentioned that it is section 28A if I remember correctly). I have never heard of such ridiculous policy – which adds a $1000 per year on my premium. Was she just trying to bump up the cost of the policy, or is there really such a law in Ontario?
