Are Insurance company underwriters not supposed to include unfinished living areas of the house when determing my total square footage of house for replace cost purposes? My premium went up even though the home inspector from Allstate did not know I had part of my house that is unfinished. I was not home at the time when he did this home based underwriting square footage procedure.

Received a bill for an additional $106, agent said the mortgage company failed to pay entire premium. But amount paid matched the amount of the renewal letter I had received. Person in office asked what was I doing with my bill. So I called the company and they just said the agent changed something and they couldn’t tell what. I said this is like getting groceries, and the store calls after you get home and tells you they can charge your CC additional for your groceries!!!!

I have been with Allstate for 20 years with my car. Now I am wanting to add home owner’s insurance. The agent quoted $553 on the house.
Since my agent was taking too long to get me a home owner’s quote, I went to another Allstate agent only asking for a quote on homeowner’s insurance. The premium quoted was $553.
Why wouldn’t the fact that I have been with the company for 20 years and I had my car with them not affect the $553 quote?
My father’s premium on the same house and same limits and coverage was $343. The only difference between me and my father are:
a. he had two vehicles insured and I only have one.
b. he had a “no claim” history because I’ve never had home owner’s insurance.
c. he was over age 55 and retired. I’m over 55 and disabled.
Why did my father pay 65% less than I’ll have to?
Why didn’t my car and history with the company get me a quote from my agent less than $553?
I showed the agents the same coverages and limits and deductables as my father’s policy. Everything the same except his policy expired in mid Nov. and mine started in mid Nov. so I was a first time home owner insurance person in their eyes. His policy listed his discounts and the ones that could be different for me was he was over age 55 and retired. I’m over age 55 and disabled. Maybe the same thing? He has a discount for two cars and me only one. He had a “history” of no claims on his home owner’s policy.
I have never had such insurance so no claims either. As far as cars there is Allstate and Allstate Indemnity. One or the other gets lower rates. One you have to drop Allstate and go some where else for 6 months and then come back to get to the Allstate division with the lower quotes.
What would the life insurance premium be for a male, gay, sexually active, San Fran bath house owner be?
