The whole argument with women when asked about how they feel about male car insurance:
“too bad”
“that’s just how it is, deal with it”
“men are irresponsible”
“who cares not my problem”
“statistics say most men can’t drive as safely as women”
So why should I care if women are getting paid less for the SAME job a man is doing since:
Women are usually less productive than men
Women want to be flirtatious in the workplace
Women are always suing for sexual harassment
Women have to call off to have kids or take care of kids.
And I could just use all of the above:
“too bad”
“that’s just how it is, deal with it”
“women are irresponsible”
“who cares not my problem”
“statistics say most women can’t work as efficiently as men”
Since the insurance companies “feel” men are irresponsible based on statistics.
Then men who have seen women consistently under perform ,compared to men, should just pay women less for the SAME amount of work.
BTW the “women pay more for health insurance” argument is old and tired. The Male vs. Female health insurance gap is no where near as big as the male vs. female car insurance gap.
@ I Enjoy: I’m glad you don’t care about my “whining”
Because I don’t care about you’re problems associated with you being a woman: pms, sexual harassment cat calls. I’m a man so It’s not my problem right?
Tristan: Ok sounds reasonable.

Good point. I’m still an advocate of womens’ rights though since not all women feel that way.

That is why some people are equalists while others are feminists.

I DO care about any inequality that’s based on false generalizations. But if you’re coming across as a whiny misogynist then most women will make a point not to admit they agree with you…
Also…
“Women are usually less productive than men” Like any guy, not if they’re at a job they care about.
“Women want to be flirtatious in the workplace” Not true, especially if they want to get respect and get promoted.
“Women are always suing for sexual harassment” Not ‘always’, only if they feel they’re being harassed, and that in some way should be addressed, but preferably not with a law suit.
“Women have to call off to have kids or take care of kids.” In order to continue the human race, people are going to reproduce. Not happy with women quitting their jobs to take care of kids? Then be a stay-at-home-dad.

Men have higher Car insurance at first because statistics have shown that men really are known to be less responsible behind the wheel. and women who stay with their careers can make equal to men. and quit bitching about women taking time off to have children or to care for them when their sick… either get a uterus so you can get time off to have kids or split care of sick children with your spouse. since only one of those options is available for men at this point maybe you should sit down and eat your socks now kiddo

All of those assumptions you made about women above are false. There has been much research done on this topic, and women are NOT less productive than men. They do NOT want to be flirtatious at work, no more than men hit on women at work. Women very often do NOT sue for sexual harassment even when they have been harassed, out of fear of losing their jobs. And women with kids are no more likely to leave a job or take personal days than men. I don’t know where you got those assumptions from but they are statistically false.
As for car insurance, I think most people just don’t know that that’s true. If it is, then it does suck, and it should be amended. But if no one is aware of it, nothing will be done.

Believe me, I’m not happy that even though I’ve got a totally clean driving record and have never been at-fault in an accident I pay out the butt for my insurance, but then, I also drive a two-door convertible sports car. If I drove a Corolla I’d pay like $90/mo for full coverage, but with my S2000, I pay almost twice that…
But given the fact that I don’t have to pay for maxi pads or tampons every month; am at basically zero risk for breast cancer; don’t have a uterus or cervix to get cancer (my roommate just got diagnosed as having severe displasia and is at a 90% risk for cervical cancer at 29 years old); at minimal risk of being raped; under no risk of having evangelical conservatives tell me what medical procedures I can have done to me because they believe in Jesus… etc…
…I’ll take the extra forty-bucks a month for insurance.

The reason women get cheaper car insurance, is because men have always got cheaper life insurance. The EU court that looked at it concluded that, whilst unfair, forcing men and women to pay the same amounts of both car and life insurance, would not save men money.
Nice try at balancing it out with the wage gap, but obviously that’s a completely different question to gender and insurance

men shouldn’t care if you pay more for things then by all means make more…..the same goes for women you want more things then get educated and make more money and don’t expect hand outs just because you are a female……..females don’t use that old WE PAY MORE FOR CLOTHES…..you do so because you CHOOSE TOO……. females are dumb enough to believe all of those blood sucking designers that by wearing their clothes it will make you a better person all you’re doing is lining the pockets of these thieves

Why are you whining about this again, you asked this identical question a few days ago.
Men pay more for car insurance due to their being “higher risk” drivers.
Incidentally, women pay more for health insurance but I don’t see any women on here constantly whining about that on here !
And BTW no man earns more than a woman for doing the same job.
The differences pertain to different roles and are not gender based, Duh!
Get a life.

Blame the victim when the victim is male. (if men pay more for insurance, it is cuz men are bad, but if women must pay more it is obviously a conspiracy to put women in their place)……
When the victim is female, a low must be passed to make things favor women or be equal.
If women pay more for health insurance, does it have anything to do with the fact that women go to the doctor more (and not for reproductive stuff)? Not to blame the victim, but to point out the hypocrisy of feminists….
